Sanibel Island on Christmas Day
Spent Christmas day at Bowman's Beach & Lighthouse Beach on Sanibel Island going sea shelling. It was a BLAST. We came home with lots of great treasure! I gave a bunch of it to my friends kids and they had a blast making things with it, counting them and looking at them. Florida humor at the welcome center. “Please wipe snow from shoes before entering building”… ha ha ha. My mom and I had fresh Gulf stone crab claws and other seafood on the beach for Christmas dinner. It was wonderful. Some neighboring beach goers put up a live Christmas tree and decorated it and played music. It was quite the lovely time. If you look close you will spot my Florida Snowman next to my crab claws. : ) I also innovated the process of shelling by making use of the turkey fryer to fill it with salt water and scoop the shells into the drainer with my Florida snow shovel and then filter out the small junk and sand. I brought home the cleanest prettiest shells on the island. Mark my word; soon the beaches will be littered with turkey fryers shelling. ;-)
